New Amazing Spider-Man 2 Set Photo Reveals Some Electro Destruction

ASM2 Electro Destruction

With Electro as its central villain, Amazing Spider-Man 2 is likely going to be chock full of electricity blasts, explosions and fires, and today director Marc Webb gave us a sneak peek at the action with his latest set photo of the day posted to Twitter, as seen above (which came with the message "Day 45. This is what happens when you try to give Electro a ticket."

Despite the fact that we have gotten an official plot synopsis - albeit a pretty vague one - we still don't really know how Electro, played by Jamie Foxx, will be fitting into the story of the Spider-Man sequel. Back when the actor first signed on he described the role saying that he is an "exciting character to play because he's a ... genius electrician-type person, and he gets the short end of the stick from the whole world," but details beyond that have been really non-existent. Does he work for Oscorp? What's his beef with the wall-crawler? How is it that he's actually turned into Electro? These are all questions we're dying to know the answers to.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which will be in theaters on May 2, 2014, follows the events of Webb's last superhero adventure and sees Andrew Garfield return as the web-slinger along with Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, and Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben. New additions to the cast include Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn, Paul Giamatti as the Rhino, and B.J. Novak, Felicity Jones and Colm Feore in mystery roles.es.
