Harry Potter Set Photos Reveal Old Age Makeup For The Epilogue
Diehard Harry Potter fans are probably equally nervous and excited to see how the eighth film will handle the final scene of the series, which-- SPOILER ALERT-- is set 19 years after the events of the last book and finds Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny taking their own children to Platform 9 3/4 to attend Hogwarts. The filmmakers have told us they'll use prosthetics and CGI to age the characters, and now we have our first look at what that will look like.
The Brazilian Harry Potter fansite Oclumencia has somehow snagged photos from the set of Deathly Hallows showing Bonnie Wright (Ginny) and Daniel Radcliffe (Harry) done up in old age makeup, with two child actors playing their kids Lily (a dead ringer for Ginny) and either Albus or James (a dead ringer for Harry, of course). The old age makeup looks pretty convincing, and though it's unclear that the epilogue will have the same emotional impact it did in the book, they're at least headed the right direction. Check out a few of the images below-- there are more at Oclumencia--and cross your fingers for old Ron and Hermione to show up as well. We have no idea how they got these photos-- paparazzi photos from outside the set show the actors with hoods over their head to avoid showing the makeup-- but it sure is fun to see Harry Potter with a receding hairline. ![]() ![]() |
