Just last week New Line announced plans to produce a sequel to their R-rated caper Horrible Bosses. The comedy that centered on a "crisscross" murder scenario a la Strangers on a Train drew positive reviews for its trio of TV stars Charlie Day, Jason Bateman and Jason Sudeikis, and earned more than $209 million worldwide. So a sequel seemed somewhat inevitable. Early reports declared that the film's co-writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein had been brought back to pen the tentatively titled Horrible Bosses 2, and that Day, Bateman and Sudeikis would return to reprise their roles…which was news to Sudeikis.

Vulture caught up with the SNL star at the swanky celebration for Stella McCartney's new Soho store, where Sudeikis insisted he has not yet signed on for the sequel, explaining:

"They haven’t even written it yet…They’ve only pitched it, the writers, and it’s a little bit of misinformation with regards to that as far as it being, everybody knowing about it and being all-in."

Beyond seeming puzzled by questions about Horrible Bosses 2, Sudeikis went on to suggest that he and his co-stars not only haven't signed on to the sequel, but moreover hadn't heard about it until the news hit the press. He wryly replied:

"I’m excited that people are enthusiastic about it. I share that same enthusiasm. I really like all those people that are involved. If you hear anything, can you let me know or at least put it in the magazine? And maybe I’ll be made aware of it."

Sudeikis will next hit theaters this Spring as part of the sprawling ensemble cast of the comedy short-filled feature Movie 43, and will co-star opposite Zach Galifiankis and Will Ferrell this summer in Jay Roach's political comedy Dog Fight.
