Jim Caviezel made a big splash by playing Jesus in The Passion, and then just sort of vanished. Now he's being resurrected from the dead by the Weinstein Company to star in yet another science fiction adventure, Outlander.
This time instead of playing an alien who flogs himself to build faith Jim will play a man from another galaxy who crash-lands on Earth in our past, and ends up knee-deep in Vikings. Lucky for us really, since he's accidentally brought with him a vicious alien predator and to destroy it he'll need the help of the civilization that inspired Hagar the Horrible.
The Hollywood Reporter says the movie will be directed by Howard McCain, from a script he wrote with Dirk Blackman.
Now that Jim Caviezel has rolled the rock away from his tomb, he's planning all kinds of new pics. Later this year, you'll see him in director Tony Scott's next movie Déjà vu.
