MOVIE NEWS
Sam Remake All this talk about about Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Ash it looks more and more like Evil Dead writer/director is veering farther and farther away from the slasher triple threat. Startling news has just come out that indicate a new future for the “groovy” Ash character.
One of the biggest arguments in the FvJvA debacle has been whether or not Evil Dead’s Ash is “commercially viable”. Well, it appears that since Raimi has recently backed his support out of the horror battle royal, he will make Ash commercially viable. Does this mean Evil Dead IV? I’m afraid not. Sam Raimi and Evil Dead star Bruce Campbell are reteaming again, this time as producers producing....A REMAKE. The two a readying a brand spanking new version for Ghost House Pictures, the same company in which Raimi produced The Grudge remake and the upcoming Boogeyman. No word yet if Campbell will reprise the role, but it is certain that Raimi will not be directing. Ghost House is currently looking for someone “reinvent the franchise” and take the helm before the new script is even written. The 1981 Original Evil Dead spawned two sequels, Evil Dead II: Dead By Dawn & The Army of Darkness. The Franchise itself gave birth to the two remotely successful video games “Evil Dead: Hail to the King” & “Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick”. This new fangled Evil Dead will hit theatres some time in the next 2 years. ![]() Fan Mail? Hate Mail?. SUBMIT A SCOOP |
