Seth MacFarlane Reportedly Invited To Host The Oscars Again

Just a day after the Academy officially confirmed that producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron would be returning to produce the Oscars again in 2014 comes a report that says this year's host, Seth MacFarlane, has been asked to return to host next year's ceremony. But is the Family Guy creator up for another turn at the job?

Just Jared reports that sources say that MacFarlane has been asked to return as host for the 2014 Academy Awards. Sources close to MacFarlane go on to point out that Zadan and Meron defended MacFarlane's performance as host last month. MacFarlane reportedly isn't sure if he's going to do it, but he'll decide within the next couple of weeks, so we may hear an update on this situation one way or the other soon enough.

MacFarlane's sense of humor isn't for everyone, so it wasn't surprising that there were some people who didn't find his music and comedy at this year's Oscars as funny as others. But no one can deny, he made a splash, serving as one of the more memorable hosts in recent years, which may be reason enough to bring him back. But will he come back? According to what he said back in February, "No way." But who knows if his mind will be changed now that some time has passed.

MacFarlane's had his hands full these days, with Family Guy still going strong and his upcoming film, A Million Ways To Die In The West - in which he'll star, in addition to directing and co-writing - in the works. And then, of course, there's the anticipated Ted sequel. Regardless of whether or not he hosts the Oscars again, we'll certainly be seeing more from the writer/director/actor on the big and small screen in the future.
