Hungry for mutant octopuses from space crush puny humans with camera tripods action? Well you’ve got a while to wait. But, if you want more substantial War of the Worlds promotion to sink your teeth into than the one or two puny pictures of Tom Cruise wetting his pants that we’ve been trickling out, then you’re in luck.

DreamWorks has just re-launched the War of the Worlds Official Site, and this time they’ve redesigned it to contain actual content! Download exciting Buddy Icons (which I personally have never found a use for), look at the spot where interesting photos would be if they released them, and use gigantic-fonts of the movie’s name in different languages as your desktop background.

Ok, so the site’s not exactly packed yet. But it does have some information, which is a nice upgrade from the static tentacle languishing on the front of the other site. Keep checking back there using the link below and watch as they fill the place up with great War of the Worlds content. Don’t expect to see the aliens though. They’ve done a good job of keeping those under tight wraps.
