Underworld Prequel Gets Some Names![]()
I’ve never been much into the Underworld movies. The first one didn’t do much for me, despite Kate Beckinsale’s involvement. Even with Beckinsale, I couldn’t be troubled to see the sequel, so remove her from the equation, and I have zero interest in the upcoming prequel, which explores the origins of the blood-feud which the first two movies had at their center.
Even though Beckinsale won’t be in the movie, which is set in the Dark Ages, some of the cast will be returning for Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans. Bloody-Disgusting reports that leading vampires Bill Nighy and Shane Brolly will return for the latest chapter, reprising their roles as Viktor and Kraven. Since the new chapter is specifically supposed to center on the rise of the lycans, who served as the vampire’s slaves before their uprising, I would expect Nighy and Brolly’s roles to be rather small, but at least there will be some sense of continuity between the three pictures. Fans should appreciate that, although most would probably much rather see Beckinsale put in an appearance instead of the old dudes in charge. |
