Here's The Academy Awards Selfie Ellen DeGeneres Took That Everyone Is Talking About
Ellen DeGeneres isn’t really a zinger kind of girl. Sure, she’s clever and can occasionally drop a biting David Letterman-esque comment, but in general, she’s a lot better with high concept bits and just being personable. That’s been her game plan at the Academy Awards tonight, and it’s led to one of the most endearing selfies ever taken.
Seriously, look at it above. The picture was taken completely impulsively by Ellen, Meryl Streep and everyone else. The host asked everyone to get out of their seats and just cram in. They did, and somehow, everyone was able to get a really hysterical and endearing look on their faces.
In just fifteen minutes or so, it's already been retweeted more than one hundred thousand times, and it's earned every single one of those. From left to right, we have Jared Leto, Jennifer Lawrence, Channing Tatum, Meryl Streep, Ellen DeGeneres, Julia Roberts, Kevin Spacey, Bradley Cooper, Brad Pitt, Lupita Nyong'o, Lupita Nyong'o's brother and Angelina Jolie.
