Amazon Is Giving Away Some Of Its Best Shows For Christmas

Amazon prime the man in the high castle

If you're celebrating any of the major holidays over the course of the next week, chances are you're going to spend quite a bit of time with family. Those of you who do that regularly already know that exchanging pleasantries is only sustainable for so long, and everyone will eventually get bored. Amazon seems to have realized that fact, and the streaming service has a new way to bring families together. If you happen to be behind on some of Amazon's best original series, Mozart in the Jungle, Bosch, and The Man in the High Castle, you will be able to stream the first seasons of these shows for free over the next week.

Amazon has officially started a promotion that will allow anyone to stream the first seasons of Bosch, The Man in the High Castle, and Mozart in the Jungle for free without a Prime membership for a limited time. The promotion will run from now through December 31, which means you have a whole week to power your way through no less than 30 episodes of original Amazon content -- not to mention the bonus content also available at the end of each show's first season. As far as Christmas surprises go, that's definitely not bad.

It's not hard to understand the sheer marketing value of this promotion. By giving consumers the opportunity to get in on these shows for not upfront cost, Amazon can tap into a potential audience base that may have otherwise been turned off by the cost of a Prime membership. For the small cost of giving away some of its content for a week, Amazon has the ability to tap into a new viewing populace and attract new users to its services. Free samples do have that effect on people.

We would also be remiss for not acknowledging the fact that you get a ton of diversity with this promotion. The Man in the High Castle (based on the Phillip K. Dick novel of the same name) is a fantastical alternate history series based on the idea that the Nazis won WWII. On the other hand, Bosch is a grounded and gritty drama that follows a former Special Forces soldier turned LAPD detective working to solve the murder of a young boy. Rounding out the promotion is Mozart in the Jungle, which is a more lighthearted affair following the exploits of a young maestro struggling to make it in New York City. There's quite literally something for every taste or preference, and it's all free which means there's no reason not to take advantage.

CinemaBlend will bring you more updates related to Amazon's best original series as new information is made available to us. This is an undeniably fantastic promotion, and it's definitely going to help plenty of us get trough the holiday season.
