Captain America: Civil War Set Video Shows An Explosive Truck Stunt

Joe and Anthony Russo’s Captain America: Civil War is currently filming in Atlanta, Georgia, and things are getting intense on the set. In the midst of superheroes battling each other, and the titular character taking down various unpatriotic foes, there is going to be major vehicular damage as well! Check out this footage of a truck meeting an explosive obstacle.

As you can see in this set video, Marvel is taking some inspiration from DC by flipping this truck over like Batman did to The Joker’s truck in The Dark Knight. The truck looks like your average trash transportation vehicle, but as seen in other set pictures (found via, its destination is the Institute for Infectious Diseases, which we learned about yesterday. It then proceeds to flip in the air and crash through the front gate. The video cuts off a second later, but the pictures show armed men approaching the site, so presumably all hell is about to break loose.

This is just one of several behind-the-scenes looks at the Captain Americ threequel. We’ve also caught glimpses of Frank Grillo in his Crossbones costume and Anthony Mackie getting his Falcon flying on - not to mention Jeremy Renner and Sebastian Stan taking pictures of themselves on set. Whatever is going down in this scene, despite the film’s heroes being on opposing sides, it’s hard to believe they would carry out such an attack, so this must be the handiwork of one of the villains, and may give us a better hint on what to expect outside of heroes simply fighting over ideological differences. Perhaps the bad guys are trying to carry out one of the standard movie/TV terrorist plots of unleashing a deadly virus on the general population. That’s not too imaginative, but it would get the job done. Ideally, Captain America and his allies will show up to deal with the ne’er-do-wells.

Adapting the 2006 storyline, Captain America: Civil War will follow the Star-Spangled Avenger and his fellow superheroes in conflict with each other after various nations try to create "a system of accountability and a governing body" in the form of a Superhero Registration Act. In addition to the aforementioned team members and Cap’s allies like Agent 13 and Winter Soldier, the film also includes other major Marvel players like General Thaddeus Ross (William Hurt), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), and Baron Zemo (Daniel Bruhl).

Captain America: Civil War will hit theaters on May 6, 2016, but in the meantime, feel free to speculate what might be going on in this scene in the comments below.
