Dennis Hopper's Son Works 25-8

Dennis Hopper’s son is following in his father’s footsteps, at least for a little while. Henry Lee Hopper has signed to play the lead in Wes Craven’s next horror flick, currently titled 25/8, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The movie marks the teenager’s entry into the horror genre and his first major role, with only a bit part in the independent Kiss & Tell a decade ago.

The younger Hopper met with Craven at a party and connected well enough that Craven invited the boy to audition. Although he has trained as an actor, Hopper hasn’t pursued acting as a career, instead focusing on experimental music and abstract art.

Hopper is joined by Denzel Whitaker, Shareeka Epps, and Emily Meade. The story focuses around seven teens over the course of one day as they attempt to discover the mystery surrounding a serial killer who is haunting them. Sounds suspiciously familiar to another one of Craven’s stories. Considering his hit-or-miss reputation as a director, we’ll reserve judgement until the final product comes out before we accuse him of ripping himself off.
