Rebecca Hall To Play A Terrorist In Shadow Dancer

Rebecca Hall has been on her way up to the A-list for years now, but her supporting role in this fall's surprise hit The Town definitely helped raise her profile even further. And even though she's becoming a bigger name in the United States, she'll be sticking closer to her U.K. roots for her next project, the spy drama Shadow Dancer, for which she's in negotiations to star.

According to Variety, the film from Man on Wire director James Marsh would star Hall as a former IRA terrorist who turns an informer for MI 5 after her husband is killed by British security forces. She is forced to reveal everything she knows about the Irish terrorist organization in order to ever see her children again. Hall is set to star in Twelfth Night on London's West End starting in January, so presumably shooting would start some time after that. Tom Bradby wrote the script based on his own book, and it landed on the fourth annual Brit List, the U.K. equivalent of Hollywood's Black List summary of the best unproduced scripts floating around town.

In less terrorist-related action, Hall has been linked to the massive list of names up for Daisy in Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby adaptation, and she also will appear at some point in Everything Must Go, the dramedy starring Will Ferrell.
