When Captain America: Civil War Will Be Streaming On Netflix

Captain America Civil War

There's a strong case to be made that Captain America: Civil War was one of the least divisive superhero movies of 2016. The Russo brothers crafted an amazing comic book adaptation that combined drama, humor, and an ungodly amount of action. It's become widely known as a film that appeals to a wide variety of tastes, and as such it's the perfect type of action movie to bring people together. With that in mind, it seems that you will be able sit down with the whole family and stream it on Netflix this Christmas.

Netflix (opens in new tab) has officially announced its lineup of December debuts, and it appears that Marvel fans are about to be very, very happy. It seems that Captain America: Civil War will on the streaming service on Christmas day. This means that, once the presents have been opened, you can sit back, relax, and watch Tony Stark duke it out with Steve Rogers in the comfort of your own home. There's little doubt that this is great news for those of us who want to watch Civil War at home, but don't really want to own a physical copy of the film.

Disney Netflix Zootopia

This release is really the result of a powerhouse partnership between Disney and Netflix. Between hit films like Zootopia, and the critically acclaimed Defenders series -- including such TV hits as Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and _Luke Cage -- _Disney has invested a substantial amount of time and resources into putting content on the streaming website. _Captain America: Civil War_ has easily become one of the most popular films to hit theaters in the last year (action blockbuster or otherwise) and as such, we have a distinct feeling that Avengers smack down will receive a very welcome reception from subscribers.

Of course, the fact that Captain America: Civil War is headed to Netflix only serves to further highlight one of our biggest gripes with the Marvel Cinematic Universe: the lack of crossover between the Netflix series and the film. Marvel and Disney very clearly have a firm understanding that Netflix is a huge platform for them, and yet we're still left wondering Steve Rogers and Matt Murdock will actually meet one another.

CinemaBlend will bring you any and all relevant details related to the upcoming debut of Captain America: Civil War on Netflix as new information becomes available to us. One thing is certain: I now know what my family and me will be doing on Christmas night. Stay tuned for more awesome Marvel news!
