Although she's generally blonde, Blake Lively has been known to change her appearance a bit for roles. She became a brunette when she starred in Green Lantern back in 2011, for example. However, for her latest, action-oriented movie The Rhythm Section, Lively has gone with a look that is quite a bit more drastic. She's not only dyed her hair dark, but she's rocking a shorn look, too. Take a look.
A lot of actresses have tried out short hair for roles. Cara Delevinge and Kristen Stewart are both examples of actresses who fearlessly shed their locks in the recent past. However, Blake Lively's look for The Rhythm Section is one that seems to be created in the makeup room rather than one a hairdresser gave her. Lively has shared plenty of images of herself in recent days rocking her usual blonde locks, so it looks like she's using a wig rather than going to great lengths to change her hair drastically. There is a reason for that choice, as the short, dark hair and bold lip is not the only look that Blake Lively will rock during The Rhythm Section, either.
Previously for The Rhythm Section, Blake Lively was caught out in expensive shoes and hair that looked as if it belonged on a pin-up model while filming. Another shot of the actress from the same movie was shared by Blake Lively's husband Ryan Reynolds, and it didn't make her look quite so chic, as you can see
The movie itself will follow Blake Lively as she works as an assassin following the news that a flight that ended in the deaths of her family members was planned and not an accident. Although Lively's character was supposed to be on that flight, as well, she is left alive and with the will and desire to track down those who harmed her family. With all of this in mind, it's easy to see why Lively's character Stephanie might need more than one disguise during her work as an assassin.
This won't be the first time that Blake Lively has filmed an action movie, as she notably took on a shark in the 2016 flick The Shallows. This film should be a totally different direction and type of story than The Shallows, however, and we can't wait to see how Blake Lively does in the role.
