Kevin Hart Back To Work Doing Jumanji: The Next Level Marketing After Car Crash

It was just a few weeks ago that we learned Kevin Hart had been involved in a car accident in a vintage automobile he owned. The accident messed up his back and he ended up having spinal fusion surgery, with reports indicating he had months of recuperating to do ahead. Now, however, just a few short weeks later, Kevin Hart is getting back into the industry hustle with some marketing work with his fellow Jumanji: The Next Level cast ahead of the movie's premiere.

Things are looking far less bleak for Kevin Hart than they were previously. When we initially heard about the accident, it was reported the driver of the car lost control of the vehicle on Mulholland Highway, with the car falling down an embankment and flipping during the event. Both Hart and the alleged driver of the car were hospitalized, and the actor underwent surgery following a diagnosis that he had fractured his spine.

It was scary-sounding for a bit, but Kevin Hart’s pal Dwayne Johnson kept things light with the press, putting fans at ease. He even cut his honeymoon a little short to do an interview appearance in place of Hart, who was scheduled to help open Kelly Clarkson’s new show.

Now, it looks like he is at least somewhat back to work and getting ready for the premiere of Jumanji: The Next Level. The sequel to Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle is hitting theaters in December and a source revealed to E! News Kevin’s return to work involves teaming up with members of the sequel cast for a new marketing campaign.

Reportedly, Kevin Hart was given the OK by his doctor and was moving around while working with members of the cast, including The Rock, Danny DeVito and Danny Glover, who all paced themselves around Hart’s abilities. This means everyone’s schedules were “reduced” so that Hart could join in.

Previously, we knew that Kevin Hart had already completed filming on two projects, the aforementioned Jumanji: The Next Level and another film called Fatherhood, but work on some other projects was left up in the air while he recovered. This includes work on a movie called My Own Worst Enemy, which was in pre-production at the time of the accident. This gig and others were a gigantic question mark at the time and may continue to make no forward progress for a little while as Hart continues working toward full health.

Still, it’s nice to see that Kevin Hart is back up and at it. Only time will tell how long it will take the actor to be back at 100%. After all, doing publicity isn’t exactly the same level of strenuous as long days on set, particularly if and when action sequences are involved.

It’s both physically and mentally strenuous to be injured, and we wish the actor the best during his continued recovery.

You can catch him next in Jumanji: The Next Level, which hits theaters on December 13, 2019. There’s plenty more hitting the box office around the holidays, and you can take a look with our full schedule.
