Jenna Dewan’s statement was a firm way to defend her and her ex’s decisions. She gave an honest look into what it’s like to live, love and co-parent with another Hollywood star. Just to put things in perspective, Dewan and Channing Tatum’s careers were on fire when their daughter was born. They were trying to raise a child and nurture a marriage while keeping up with the demands of Hollywood. She was touching on a serious issue, bu felt her words to be twisted for headlines. At the same time, the former couple seemed to place their daughter above all the gossip.

Dewan’s Twitter post came on the heels of her interview on the Dear Gabby podcast. She revealed to the host that her ex couldn’t be with her as much during the last stretch of her pregnancy due to filming obligations. Jenna Dewan also spoke about going right back to work in Vancouver after their daughter’s birth. This seemingly led to her suffering from postpartum issues as Channing Tatum stayed in London. She also admitted that parenting alone brought out all these insecurities about motherhood. But that wasn’t the first time Dewan has opened about her ex.

Channing Tatum In The Kingsman 2

Jenna Dewan and her ex Channing Tatum surprised many fans by announcing their split in 2018. Months after they broke up, she opened about growing and learning to embrace change as a single mother. She also wrote in her 2019 memoir Gracefully You that her and Tatum’s marriage had changed from loving to toxic toward the end. The Rookie star was also open about how the dissolution of her marriage was seemingly difficult for her. The former couple has seemingly moved on while co-parenting peacefully despite some issues surrounding their divorce.

Looking at this situation, Jenna Dewan was presumably thinking about her and Channing Tatum’s daughter as she alluded to in her response. After all, their daughter is old enough to go online and read her parents’ words about each other. So she's encouraging publications to remember there are people involved behind each new story.
