Disappointing: Kelly Ripa And Regis Philbin Don't Speak Anymore

Kelly Ripa and Regis Philbin may have been an incredible team during their decade together on the air, but apparently, they don’t get along quite as famously off the air. In fact, the two apparently haven’t spoken at all since he took his final bow on Live With Regis And Kelly about a year and a half ago.

Ripa made the shocking admission this week to US Magazine during a recent New York City event. Initially, the conversation started with the host, who now works with Michael Strahan, praising her former partner, but when she was asked if they stayed in touch, she admitted she no longer speaks to the feisty Notre Dame graduate.

As sportscasters have pointed out numerous times, there’s a difference between personal chemistry and professional chemistry. Kobe and Shaq weren’t the best of friends off the court, but once they suited up, they won at an incredible rate. In retrospect, it now seems like that same basic idea was in play for Regis and Kelly. They were always firing on all cylinders when the cameras started rolling, and I suppose that was the most important thing.

Still, part of me hopes these two will reconnect at some point and share a meal every now and again. They offered too many good times to fans over the years to not share some themselves.
