Gamblers Are Betting Big On One Prince William and Kate Middleton Baby Name

william and kate engagement interview

Gamblers will bet on anything. It really doesn't matter what it is. If there's money in their sights, they'll roll the dice and hope luck is on their side. That's currently the case with a number of people right now, who just so happen to be currently hedging their bets on the name and sex of the third child of Prince William and Kate Middleton, the newest member of British royalty. the number one prediction for the baby-to-be is that A) it'll be a girl and B) her name will be Princess Mary. The odds are currently placed at 7/1.

These Ladbrokes numbers (via Metro News) are up from its initial 20/1 odds. Originally, Princess Alice was sitting as the number one choice, but that prediction has fallen to second place, with the odds of 8/1 in its favor. It's now tied with Victoria in that position, as well. Should the upcoming child end up being a boy, however, Albert and Arthur are the top picks. The odds are 12/1 in their respective favor. If you're asking yourself why Mary is the number one choice, there's a pretty simple explanation for that. You see, Mary is the middle name of none other than Queen Elizabeth herself. Her full name is Queen Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor. Here's what Ladbrokes' Jessica Bridge had to say about the number one pick.

We can't quite put our finger on the link between Mary and the North West, but the overwhelming support means we have a new favorite in the royal baby name market. Punters are convinced the Duke and Duchess are expecting another little girl, and obviously, it would be a lovely touch to honor Her Majesty's Grandmother, but it will be interesting to see if any boys' names are backed over the coming weeks before the birth.

The child will have a brother in four-year-old Prince George and a sister in two-year-old Princess Charlotte. Whatever the child's name and gender should be, it's likely an exciting time for the forthcoming parents -- though Middleton did somewhat recently admit that motherhood can be "lonely" and "isolated" at times. Hopefully, the addition of another child in her family will hopefully cure such blues. It's a bustling time for the Royal Family.

In addition to the upcoming baby, there is also a Royal Wedding in the midst. Prince Harry is set to marry actress Meghan Markle on May 19. It's worth noting that Middleton is expected to deliver the baby sometime in April, which means the little bundle of joy should (hopefully) be making an appearance at the nuptial proceedings. Considering she'll be less than a month old, however, it'll certainly be understandable if the little one doesn't make it to the event. In any case, we'll know soon the gender and the name of the child soon enough, and it's either going to make a lot of people happy or it's going to leave a good number of people disappointed. We'll keep you posted when that day arrives.
