How Many Guests Are Invited To The Royal Wedding
The Royal Wedding is going to be the place to be on May 19th, that's for certain. The Windsor Castle-held nuptials will have no shortage of guests in attendance. As it's being reported today, the guest list for the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is massive. To be more specific, an estimated 2,640 people are reportedly invited to attend the event. Talk about a crowded venue. We'd hate to be in charge of parking. Or catering, even.
The latest info on the Royal Wedding comes from Entertainment Tonight. It should be noted that these 2,5360 people are supposedly in addition to the friends and family cordially invited to attend the ceremony between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. They will be invited on the grounds to watch the soon-to-be husband and wife arrive and enter the chapel. They'll also see the just married royal couple waving goodbye from the carriage as it departs.
The selection process for these men and women was not easy. The bystanders were reportedly selected based on a wide range of details, from age to different backgrounds. According to a press release, the couple also wanted "young people who have shown strong leadership," and they also wanted "those who served their communities." Additionally, the guest list was rounded up with people from charities and organizations closely associated with the couple, along those in schools nearby and various community members in the Windsor Castle area. There were several hundred individuals from the Royal Households and Crown Estate invited as well. So, they weren't necessarily picked out of a royal hat. It was a thoughtful process.
In addition to these various attendees, the guest list for the upcoming wedding also reportedly includes two of Prince Harry's ex-girlfriends, along with all the Spice Girls, who might be performing their first show in years together during the reception. The guest list supposedly includes Elton John and Ed Sheeran as well.
It's unclear who else might be making an appearance, but it's apparent that one person in particular will not be invited by the royal family: Trevor Engelson, a.k.a. Meghan Markle's ex-husband. The producer is reportedly making a TV show about a divorcee who enters the royal family. Any idea where the inspiration came for that one? The royal family has a guess, and as a result, they will not likely invite Trevor Engelson to the proceedings. But considering that most of the actual guest list information is confidential, who's to say?
Congratulations to the thousands of people who will get the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the royal wedding -- even if it's from afar. And if you're not able to attend the ceremony, then you shouldn't fret too much. After all, it's reported that it will be broadcast live, so you can watch it on TV.
