Britney Spears Checks Into Mental Health Facility Over Father's Illness
After taking care of her father, Jamie Spears, during his recent health concerns, Britney Spears is opting to take care of herself. As it was reported this week, the pop musician has checked into a self-care mental health facility, where she is expected to remain for the next 30 days. Sources close to the musician said that she has been unwell through the health scares related to her dad, and Britney Spears claimed she needed "me time" during this tough period in her personal life.
As it was reported by The Los Angeles Times, it has been a point of hardship for the Spears family of late. According to a person close to the family, Jamie Spears is dealing with a "life-threatening" colon rupture which has required two surgeries in recent months — including one that occurred only three weeks earlier. The father and daughter have been close throughout the years, particularly during Britney Spears own troubles, and it has understandably "taken a toll" on the famous singer.
While a source close to best-selling pop star claims "nothing dramatic" is happening with her, Britney Spears felt it was important to check into a self-care facility to give herself the care she feels is necessary. She reportedly isn't taking drugs or drinking. Instead, Spears wants to focus on her mental and emotional well-being, and the famous musician feels some time by herself is important and vital. The "Stronger" singer announced her intentions to go to the mental health center in an Instagram post. Here's what Britney Spears posted on Wednesday.
Thankfully, Britney Spears has received a lot of support and well wishes — including kind and caring remarks from the people closest to the pop musician — regarding this mental health decision. For instance, Jamie Lynn Spears, her sister, went on Instagram to champion her celebrity sibling. In the social media address, she posted a throwback picture from their childhood when Britney Spears rode the bus with Jamie Lynn on her first day of school. She said that Britney is "the fn best."
Additionally, Sam Asghari, Britney Spears' boyfriend, also went onto Instagram and rallied his support for his romantic life partner. The professional trainer posted the same affirmation that Britney Spears posted on her Instagram, which read, "Fall in love with taking care of yourself. Mind. Body. Spirit." Then, in the caption section, Sam Asghari spoke from the heart and wrote the following sympathetic response.
Additionally, Kevin Federline, Britney Spears' ex-husband, has also "commended" this decision, according to The Blast. According to Mark Vincent Kaplan, K-Fed believes she is taking "the responsible steps" to handle this situation in "a responsible way." The one-time celebrity couple share two children together.
