Jennifer Lopez And Casper Smart: Are You Surprised They're Still Together?

It’s hard to believe it’s been almost a year since Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony announced their marriage was ending. Sure, the occasional rumor of problems popped up over the course of their relationship, but on the whole, the couple was seen as loving and healthy. Even after they separated, a steady stream of reconciliation whispers followed their every move. Most observers were just unwilling to think they’d be apart forever; so, when Lopez began dating a dancer almost twenty years her junior, the rebound was widely written off as a temporary way for her to heal.

Months later however, Lopez and Casper Smart are still going strong. The American Idol judge even threw her boyfriend a lavish birthday party earlier this week. According to E! News, Lopez celebrated by buying him a white pickup truck for the occasion. In pictures, videos and through the words of anonymous sources, the pair consistently seem happy, loving and remarkably stable. What was once considered a fling has definitely developed into a full-on relationship, and in time, it could very well blossom into something more.

Given all that, I probably shouldn’t be surprised they’re still together, but honestly, I definitely am. She’s dated a wide variety of men throughout her life, but it still seems odd the forty-two-year-old mother would look to Smart for long-term fulfillment. I really hope it works out for them. I hope they find happiness in each other’s arms, but for the time being, I still can’t get over the shock.
