Judge Judy Sued By Her Producer's Ex Over Fine China Purchase

Longtime Judge Judy producer Randy Douthit and his wife didn’t end their marriage on the best terms. In fact, they’ve been fighting it out in court over finances ever since, and now, thanks to some luxurious Christofle tableware, Judy Judy herself has been dragged into the mess as the defendant in a lawsuit.

According to TMZ, Douthit and his ex, Patric Jones, owned the really expensive flatware and fine china. During the divorce proceedings, Douthit sold the bulk of it to Judge Judy for $50,000. If you take it from Jones, however, the china was actually worth more than $500,000. She thinks her ex sold it simply to piss her off. So, she wants Judge Judy to either return the fine china as soon as possible or to fork over $514,421.14, what she feels is the real value of the purchased goods.

I have no idea why she didn’t subtract the $50,000 Judge Judy already paid from this ludicrous asking price, but with or without it, Jones is going to have a really hard time proving her case. For the TV personality to have done anything wrong, she would have needed to know she was willingly defrauding her producer’s ex in his revenge scheme.

Here’s what the Judge had to say about the case…

"I have not seen any complaint by the former Mrs. Douthit, however, I don't owe this lady a cent. And if this 50-year-old woman would spend her time more productively at trying to find a job, instead of abusing the judicial system with frivolous lawsuits, we would all be a lot better off."

If this does go to trial, I hope Judge Judy represents herself, and the proceedings are taped for the benefit of the general public. I would love to see how much more aggressive the beloved woman is when she actually has a horse in the race.
