When things left off on Arrow, Earth-Two Laurel, like the rest of Team Arrow, was not doing so well. If you aren't caught up with the show -- and spoilers -- Quentin Lance died taking a bullet for an alternate version of his daughter, leaving her devastated. Also contributing to her upset feelings is the fact Oliver Queen is in prison. While you may have expected her to crumble into a ball of some sort, she is actually going to experience a bit of an upswing in Season 7 -- at least, when it comes to her professional life. In fact, Laurel is going to be Star City's DA in Season 7.

Arrow's new showrunner Beth Schwartz confirmed the tidbit ahead of the Season 7 premiere. During the talk with TVLine, she also shared that Laurel would be doing the best of the major characters when Arrow returns. Felicity, on the other hand, will be managing the worst. The news that Laurel will be the DA of Star City is not entirely surprising, albeit it could be a crucial hint of what's to come for her in Season 7. Being a DA on Arrow should keep her busy.

It is undoubtedly going to be an interesting position for her to have in Season 7, as we know she will have revenge on her mind in the upcoming installment. Arrow's new showrunner previously revealed at San Diego Comic-Con that Black Siren/Laurel would continue battling her eternal internal conflict between good and bad, as she pursues revenge for Lance's death. As a DA she should be under a pretty close microscope and perhaps that will help her stay on the right track.

Given that her dad's death on Earth-Two contributed to her turning to the wrong side of morality, Laurel's Earth-One father also dying could have a similar effect on her in Season 7. Suffice it to say; there is a lot to speculate running about as fans await the series' big return. As for how Laurel being the DA of Star City will impact Team Arrow, I'd assume it won't be a bad thing for them. Or at least one would hope not.

They have their hands full with Oliver behind bars facing down the baddies he helped put away. Laurel being a rogue DA would not help matters. Given Earth-One Laurel's relationship with the District Attorney's office, seeing Earth-Two Laurel take on the role brings an intriguing backstory to the plot twist. Find out how it all turns out when Arrow returns for its seventh season.

The seventh season of Arrow will premiere Monday, October 15 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW. For other new television shows set to bow this fall, check out CinemaBlend's guide to TV's fall premieres.
