Bachelorette Hannah Defends Keeping Luke P.: 'There Are Certain Things That I Don't Get To See'

Bachelorette Hannah looks annoyed ABC

Bachelorette spoilers ahead from Hannah Brown's Season 15, up to Episode 5.

Both Bachelorette Hannah Brown and the star of The Luke P show himself, Luke Parker, have mentioned that watching The Bachelorette 2019 back is tough for them. Luke P. knows he's getting the villain edit and said he's learning about his "flaws as a man."

Hannah, now done with the season and reportedly engaged to one of her boyfriends, has to watch the season back and see how much she missed. This is always the case on The Bachelor and Bachelorette -- the contestants in the house know so much more about each other than the rosegivers. That's kinda why Bachelor in Paradise is a better way to meet someone, if you insist on doing it through Bachelor Nation TV shows.

At any rate, Hannah B. defended her choice to keep Luke P. around after the whole debacle of Luke S., which resulted in Luke S. quitting in Episode 5. She didn't get to see the exchange viewers saw in Episode 4, with Luke P. saying he'd go tell Hannah he made up his issues with Luke S. Hannah told ET she saw all of that for the first time on TV.

It's really hard sometimes to watch back the show, because especially in that instance, there are certain things that I don't get to see, and I'm not privy to see. I mean, I only get the conversation that I have with each of the guys, and so it is sometimes difficult to see, 'Oh, so that's actually what happened.'

Hannah B. knows that Luke P. is not popular in the house. She also had a super awkward one-on-one date with him in Scotland. The June 11 Episode 5 ended with Hannah not being able to give Luke a rose. However, we've already seen in ABC's own promos that Luke sticks around and later has a dramatic fight with Garrett. So the spoiler is out of the bag on that one.

Bachelorette Hannah tried to explain why she's keeping Luke P. around, seeming to see her attraction to him as something she may have to work through in therapy:

There definitely is chemistry between Luke P. and I, and that is something that is worth looking into, and my chemistry with him is much stronger than maybe with somebody else, other men there, and that's something that I'm going to investigate why my feelings are that way, even if he does have issues in the house. I just have to figure out exactly where those issues are rooted, but I'm not not like a viewer, getting to see all the different things that are happening in the house... it's a big part of my journey and how I decide to really just trust my gut and how I feel about a relationship and what I do to decide how I want to continue on.

Yeah, Bachelorette Hannah is always talking about following her heart. But with Luke P., she seemed to question what was in his heart. Does he even have genuine emotions or was he just telling her what she wanted to hear?

Also, how much of Luke P. sticking around is by Hannah's choice and how much is producer influence? Never forget they have a say in how long someone lasts. You don't really think Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay wanted to keep the whaboom guy after Night 1, did you?

We know the Hannah B./Luke P. story isn't over, but fans seem very ready to move on from The Luke P Show and focus on more important things -- like the salmon jacket club:

May the best salmon (not pink) jacket gentleman win.

If Hannah picks Luke P., she will not be the first Bachelor Nation star to choose someone controversial. If you want to know how long Luke P. reportedly lasts on the show, here you go. If you want more finale spoilers on who reportedly "wins" The Bachelorette 2019, feast your eyes. The show continues Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC. And don't forget we have Bachelor in Paradise coming soon, featuring a newly eliminated fan favorite, among others.
