The Robinsons will have to work with Dr. Smith (Parker Posey) and Don West (Ignacio Serricchio), as they attempt to return to the Resolute and its colonists. Lost in Space’s official logline also teases that “new threats” and “unexpected discoveries” will emerge as they attempt to reunite with Robot and find safe passage to Alpha Centauri.

Sounds exciting! How much Lost in Space do you have to look forward to? There will be ten episodes total, and they will clock in at one-hour each. For those who watched the reboot when it made its original debut, last April, Season 2 should prove worth the wait. That is if you have not already binged the four other sci-fi TV shows that CinemaBlend’s Gina Carbone recommends!

Season 2 will not only see the return of all of the Robinsons -- Maureen (Molly Parker), John (Toby Stephens), Judy (Taylor Russell), Penny (Mina Sundwall), and Will -- Lost in Space will also welcome a new character.

New to the cast is recent New Amsterdam addition JJ Feild. He will star in the recurring guest role of Ben Adler. Who is he? The chief of advanced systems and artificial intelligence. According to the description, Ben is Maureen’s “academic contemporary” yet shares more in common with her son, Will, when it comes to his experiences.

Will Robinson has experienced quite a bit in his young life. As the trailer for Season 2 indicates, Will’s next Lost in Space adventure will be trying to find Robot. Can Ben help with that? Here is hoping!

Lost in Space Season 2 premieres December 24 on Netflix. A release date that puts the second season among the new content set to arrive on the streamer before the end of the year. Lost in Space’s return is also one of this fall’s premieres.
