When will your heart be called on to watch When Calls the Heart’s spinoff on basic cable? It seems like ages ago that Hallmark announced that the mega-popular series would be getting a spinoff, but for fans hoping to tune into the same channel where they watch When Calls the Heart to see it, there was some unexpected news. When Hope Calls was developed for Hallmark’s streaming service, Hallmark Movies Now.
Do you not want to have to add another streaming service to your extensive library? Well, be disheartened no more! When Hope Calls is coming to Hallmark Channel! Season 1 will premiere on Sunday, February 23, at 9 p.m. ET. Episodes will air after When Calls the Heart Season 7.
For those who may need a refresher, news of When Hope Calls was announced last year. It tells the tale of two sisters, Lillian (Morgan Kohan) and Grace (Jocelyn Hudon), who were introduced in When Calls the Heart’s 2019 holiday movie. When Hope Calls follows Lillian and Grace as they open an orphanage circa 1916 in the Western town of Brookfield.
Fans will now get to watch the When Hope Calls duo as they deal with a lot of issues, right after the latest exciting episode of When Calls the Heart. While trying to help the kids in the orphanage, the sister act searches for romance, pursuing personal happiness according to Hallmark. Will it be entirely smooth sailing?
This is the When Calls the Heart franchise, and it is no stranger to heartache, just ask Elizabeth Thatcher Thornton. She lost her beloved husband, Jack, when he was killed off of the show. Thankfully things have turned out happier for Jack’s portrayer. Just as in that series, the sisters of When Hope Calls will be no strangers to personal and professional troubles.
In Brookefield, Lillian and Grace run up against the “traditions of cattle ranchers” and the “ambitions of a growing town,” per Hallmark. Sounds intense, and Hallmark Channel viewers will finally get a chance to dive into all of the drama soon! A Hearties’ heart is most undoubtedly full after this news!
There have been some tidbits to keep Hearties going as they await When Calls the Heart’s return. Last year fans got a peek at the drama’s seventh season thanks to Erin Krakow. The actress showed off some behind-the-scenes glimpses as work on Season 7 got underway. It will be different without Lori Loughlin’s Abigail, though, who was abruptly written out.
When Calls the Heart will be back to deal with its first full season without Abigail. It will also be the first one with its spinoff airing afterward. For those who have not already binged When Hope Calls on Hallmark’s streaming service, it is a chance for the show to grow its audience even more! How exciting is that?
Fans will not have to wait too much longer to get their hearty helping of hope calling! When Hope Calls will make its debut as one of this winter’s premieres. Season 1 starts Sunday, February 23, at 9 p.m. ET on Hallmark Channel. You can currently stream the first five seasons of When Calls the Heart on Netflix, among its 2020 premieres.
