Real Housewives Of Atlanta Star Bails On Filming, And It's All Because Of A Stripper Scandal

The Real Housewives Of Atlanta Bravo

It wouldn't be The Real Housewives if a castmember wasn't threatening to quit the show, and, just on the heels of Denise Richards' drama, it appears a cast member of The Real Housewives Of Atlanta may be done with the spinoff. The current word is that Tanya Sams, who is a friend of the cast and not officially a part of the series' main ensemble, has dropped out of filming after a stripper scandal that will be featured in Season 13.

The news comes from TMZ, who reported Tanya Sam quit filming midway through Season 13 after seeing how it has been promoted by Bravo. Specifically, Tanya Sam is upset with a storyline involving an alleged "sex party," during which Sam and Porsha Williams may have done something neither one wanted to be broadcasted on television. Take a look at the trailer below, and continue reading for more details on this surprising turn of events:

Apparently, the issue is not that the moment was featured but that the moment is being promoted "too much." It's possible Tanya Sam's role in the actual party is not quite as scandalous as the trailer implies and that the fact it's being played up as such may be aggravating to The Real Housewives Of Atlanta star. Of course, it would also be aggravating to see it promoted if something she wasn't too proud of was broadcast several times on national television, so we can only speculate what about the footage really has Sam upset.

Another problem Tanya Sam allegedly has is that a focus was put on her relationship troubles in Season 12, and there are other grievances as well. It was clarified that Sam has not explicitly left the series.

For now, it means she'll likely be absent from a few episodes at the midseason mark and possibly gone from the rest of the season, depending on how this drama plays out. It's possible that cooler heads could prevail in the end though, and Sam will appear again on the series in the future.

Tanya Sam is not an official cast member of The Real Housewives Of Atlanta, so it stands to reason that had this announcement not happened, fans could've gone on not realizing anything was amiss. It's not an entirely rare occurrence for friends of Housewives to drop in and out of filming, though noting their absence could gauge a fandom's reaction to them not being around on the show. Friends of the show are occasionally in the bullpen to become castmembers eventually, so Bravo could deal with this situation based on how fans like Sam on the show.

The Real Housewives Of Atlanta Season 13 premieres on Bravo Sunday, December 6 at 8:00 p.m. ET. Continue to stick with CinemaBlend for more on the franchise, and for the latest news happening in television and movies.
