Jessica Simpson Had A Funny Holiday Photo Fail, But Her Weight Loss Journey Is Going Great

This has been a hard year for pretty much everyone, even our favorite celebrities. One thing many have been struggling with is weight gain or supporting weight loss while not being able to go to the gym or get out as they normally would, and one celebrity whose weight struggle has been public fodder is singer and mogul Jessica Simpson. But, a recent holiday photo fail from Jessica Simpson’s husband has shown that her weight loss journey is going great.

Jessica Simpson’s weight loss battle has been a source of late-night jokes and endless parodies, while Simpson’s public image has been tied to her body since the beginning. From her days of “These Boots Are Made For Walkin'” to the infamous mom-jeans incident, the public, whether her adoring fans or not, have always focused on the singer’s fluctuating weight.

Simpson has been living her best life on social media, celebrating the holidays with her husband and children, and has been posting photos on her Instagram while lowkey showing her 100-pound weight loss. Check out this funny photo fail of her in Christmas pajamas:

Seeing Simpson in this photo fail is a joy. While others have gained “quarantine” weight, the mogul has managed to lose the weight she gained during her pregnancy with her third child in 2019. Simpson has taken her weight loss journey into her own hands by being a WW (a.k.a. Weight Watchers) spokesperson. She previously held the same position after the birth of her second child.

In recent years, Simpson has revealed a key reason for her weight gain – alcoholism. She spoke about her battle with alcohol in her 2020 memoir, Open Book. The open secret not only affected her weight, but her family and business relationships. So, while a real joy of the photo comes from seeing her life as a recovering alcoholic, it's good to see that her weight loss journey, which has been years in the making, is also working out.

Seeing Simpson’s life now compared to the start of her fame shows her progression since the days of MTV's Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica. She came into the public conscience as a teen idol during the late 1990s – early 2000s teen pop boom, and was competing with the likes of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, producing Hot 100 hits such as “I Wanna Love You Forever,” “I Think I’m In Love,” and “Irresistible.” Her career exploded after starring in Newlyweds with then-husband Nick Lachey, leading to a career resurgence as a singer and actress. She went on to star in films such as The Dukes of Hazzard, and Employee of the Month.

In recent years, she has expanded into the business world with her lifestyle brand, The Jessica Simpson Collection, catering to women and going on to be valued at $1 billion. As we all know, though, having money, fame, and success doesn't automatically erase all of one's troubles, so it's very good to see that Jessica Simpson has been working on making sure that she's as healthy and happy as possible in every way.
