While Star Wars fans will still be waiting a while to get our first big look at the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series for Disney+ – which will be more like new Star Wars than old Star Wars – the company is giving everyone a lot to chew on by way of revealing the full cast list for the limited series. And on top of the already revealed stars such as Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen (which still seems like a fever dream come to life), the Obi-Wan series will also bring back the prequel trilogy's Joel Edgerton, while introducing The Eternals Kumail Nanjiani, Godzilla: King of the Monsters' O'Shea Jackson Jr., and many more.
Check out the full list of actors set for Obi-Wan Kenobi below in a fancy image provided by Disney. Not even the Force is capable of holding back excitement for this ensemble.
The biggest reveal in that bunch, of course, is the always great Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse, who portrayed Star Wars' younger versions of Luke Skywalker's Uncle Owen Lars and Aunt Beru in both Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. Edgerton was one of many actors whose names were fans bandied about by fans when talking about who might return for Obi-Wan Kenobi, so it's awesome that he's already been confirmed. Beyond that, we have Silicon Valley and The Big Sick's Kumail Nanjiani, who joins the Star Wars universe after having buffed up for the MCU as part of the upcoming feature The Eternals.
There are clearly lots of other exciting names involved too, though. Game of Thrones and Carnival Row star Indira Varma was previously announced to have joined the show in an undisclosed role. Meanwhile, we also have Godzilla: King of the Monsters' O'Shea Jackson Jr., The Queen's Gambit actress Moses Ingram, Homeland vet Rupert Friend, Fast and Furious franchise alum Sung Kang, Reckoning's Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie, one half of the directing duo behind Uncut Gems and Good Time.
Naturally, the fine folks at Disney and Star Wars did not provide lengthy explanations for who or what all these actors will be playing, such as whether or not so we're left to our own imaginative devices until more announcements are made in the future. We obviously know that Ewan McGregor is going to be reprising his role of Obi-Wan, while Hayden Christensen will once again take on the role of Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader, and then there's Joel Edgerton and . But will one of those new actresses end up playing Clone Wars' Sabine? My money is on "hopefully yes."
Stay tuned for more about Obi-Wan Kenobi's impending debut and any other details that might be coming out soon.
