Britney Spears' Latest Dance Video Finally Sheds Some Light On Her Feelings Over New Doc

Britney Spears on Carpool Karaoke

Since its release, Hulu’s Framing Britney Spears documentary has elicited a number of reactions from the public. The doc takes a deep look into the media’s coverage of the singer over the years and the conservatorship she’s been living under for over a decade. In the process, it provides a new perspective on the earlier years of Spears’ career. Despite the various reactions to the television film, Spears herself has yet to provide any major thoughts on it. But now, in a recent dance video, she provided a bit of clarity on her reaction to the doc.

Britney Spears recently took to Instagram to post the video, which includes a lengthy caption. In the message, Spears gets candid about the speculation surrounding her life and explains that dancing is a way for her to maintain her sanity. She then goes on to confirm that she has not actually seen Framing Britney Spears in its entirety but went on to reveal how she feels about the parts she has seen:

I didn't watch the documentary but from what I did see of it I was embarrassed by the light they put me in ... I cried for two weeks and well .... I still cry sometimes !!!! I do what I can in my own spirituality with myself to try and keep my own joy ... love ... and happiness

It’s understandable that Britney Spears has opted not to watch Framing Britney Spears for herself. While we watch the series as spectators, she actually lived through it all, and revisiting those parts of her life could be difficult for her. Still based on the rest of her caption, it sounds like Spears has chosen to remain upbeat no matter what comes her way:

Every day dancing brings me joy !!! I'm not here to be perfect ... perfect is boring ... I'm here to pass on kindness

In the past, Britney Spears has been candid about certain aspects of her life, opening up to fans about them on social media. Dancing videos are just one of the ways she attempts to spread positivity. You can check out the original post down below:

After Framing Britney Spears, many celebrities have come forward with their own responses, with the majority of them empathizing with the singer’s journey. Actress and singer Bella Thorne expressed sadness after watching the documentary and stated her belief that many in the public contributed to Spears’ downfall and eventual conservatorship. Kim Kardashian was also able to relate to the documentary, as she found similarities in the scrutiny she and Spears have faced.

Like Britney Spears though, not all stars have been so inclined to watch the film. Jessica Simpson recently opened up about her own decision not to watch it. She believes its contents would be somewhat triggering for her since she had a Hollywood experience that was very similar to Spears’.

It’s truly unfortunate that Britney Spears has had to contend with so much in her professional and personal lives but, at the very least, the public is gradually becoming more aware of how she’s been treated. And above all else, it’s nice to see the singer is continuing to block out the noise and dance to the beat of her own drum.
