Lizzo loves her body.

Lizzo’s most famous track is called “Truth Hurts” and this time she’s taken to TikTok to tell it how it is. The singer and rapper has been a big proponent of body positivity since she’s become a household name, but she recently went off on the Internet about weight shaming, fake internet doctors and a whole slew of other topics.

In an intimate and lengthy video conversation, Lizzo really talked about what it is like to not only be a curvy woman in the industry but also in everyday life. She says that people are constantly scrutinizing what she’s eating and doing and it’s really important for there to be content online aimed at showing positivity toward multiple body types.

The singer has spoken out about her body, feeling down on herself and how she figured out how to love herself in the past. This time around, she’s tackling a topic that comes up often: People feeling the need to comment on women of various sizes and why they may or may not be losing the weight. She touched on this in a lengthy post she filmed while enjoying a coconut milk-oriented snack, noting,

Every single body is different. And how it functions is different. What really bothers me are the fake doctors in the comments, saying, ‘Oh you have this, or you might have this condition.’ No! What if I’m just fat, what if this is just my body? Bodies are not all designed to be slim with a six pack. If you’re feeling down on yourself today, just remember that your body is your body. No body got your body. So enjoy that bitch.

In general, Lizzo is all about celebrating her body. The singer recently declared it “ass crack summer” and showed off a revealing new look over the weekend at the body she’s been working so fiercely to protect and treasure since she made peace with her curves. Her social media is all about that positivity, with the star recently sharing dance videos and more celebrating how she looks and feels.

Weight can be a bit of a weird subject in the entertainment sphere. Being an actor or singer, there’s often pressure to look a certain way. There’s perhaps less pressure with singers than with actors who consistently yo-yo for roles or must stay in peak shape to play superheroes or whatever. Still, it's worth noting it was huge news when Lady Gaga put on a little weight a few years ago while touring and later felt the need to thank her fans for "having compassion" and not making it a big deal. When you are in the limelight, there is always going to be scrutiny and unwanted comments (there's a whole term for that: toxic fandom), but it seems as if Lizzo is finding her own way through it.
