After a shocking and heartbreaking season finale, it was only a matter of time before Netflix renewed the dramedy Ginny & Georgia. It’s now official that the series will be coming back for another season, and the cast announced the news in a video posted to social media, in which they couldn’t contain their excitement.

The entire cast of Ginny & Georgia got together to announce the Season 2 news for a video on Instagram, calling the series iconic, epic and groundbreaking. The news means more surprises, more living room parties and more climbing through windows. Much of the cast has reposted the video on their Instagrams, and Ginny herself, Antonia Gentry, posted a lengthy and heartfelt caption thanking fans and giving her appreciation to the series:

Ginny & Georgia, which premiered on Netflix in February, follows 15-year-old Ginny Miller “who is more mature than her 30-year-old mother” Georgia in a New England town where Georgia decides to settle down with her daughter and son Austin to give them a better life than she had. In the first 28 days after its release, Netflix announced that 52 million subscribers watched the first season, despite some controversy.

The Season 1 finale left fans with multiple questions, including what will happen to Ginny and Austin on the road and what will happen with Ginny and her friends now that everything has come out about her and Marcus. With the major reception the series has received and the success it already has, paired with the cliffhanger in Season 1, it would have been a shock if Netflix didn’t renew for Season 2. Luckily, fans don’t have to worry about not knowing what will happen next.

Last month, Antonia Gentry teased that if fans were focused enough while watching, they could spot some clues as to where Ginny and Austin could possibly be heading after running out when it was revealed that Georgia had poisoned her stepfather. It was a shocking cliffhanger that left fans wondering what could be next for the siblings as they headed off to who knows where. It’s a good thing Season 2 is coming, or else that cliffhanger would have been a terrible ending, wondering what became of them!
