As 2021 rolls on, Marvel Studios and Disney+ continue to drop more Marvel Cinematic Universe shows, and fans seem to be enjoying them so far. The next series to hit the streamer is Loki, which will finally see Tom Hiddleston’s God of Mischief take center stage in his own adventure. While the trailers have been great so far, the latest batch of footage showed Loki repeating one of his most iconic lines, and fans can’t get enough of it.

Loki nation had a reason to cheer last night when the TV spot dropped during the NBA and Marvel's Arena Of Heroes. The footage, which made its way to Twitter, featured the madcap action you would expect from a Loki-centric series, but you could also hear the titular character recite that famous quote from 2012’s The Avengers:

Marvel fans likely have chills. “I am Loki, and I am burdened with glorious purpose.” It’s the line the character once uttered when he first arrived on Earth during the events of The Avengers. That quote not only set the tone for his role in that film, but it’s also helped define who the character is (or who he’s trying to be) in the MCU.

The line struck a chord with fans then, and they can’t help but appreciate the fact that it’s been brought back. For many, it truly signifies that this is Loki’s time to shine:

It’s honestly hard to believe that it’s been nine years since we first heard Loki utter the phrase, but the scene itself has become etched in fans’ memories. Now, some are taking the time to compare the two scenes in which the line is spoken:

Of course, other fans seem to be using the occasion for another reason -- to gaze upon the flawlessness that is Tom Hiddleston. And if I’m being honest, it’s hard to blame them:

The reintroduction of this line may seem like fan service, but it makes sense that Loki would use it again. This iteration of the God of Mischief is from 2012 and has only just experienced the Battle of New York from The Avengers. With this, he still has the mindset of a conqueror and hasn’t been softened by the events of the other Thor films. You can check out all of Loki’s big-screen adventures by streaming the MCU films on Disney+, which you can sign up for using this link.

Loki seems to have quite a journey ahead of him in his new show, one that will see him mature and deal with his struggles of identity. He’ll likely go through a change by the end of the show, but it’s still nice to see that Marvel is finding ways to reach back to the character’s roots.
