The First Trailer For The Avengers To Be Released On Tuesday

Those wise enough to stay through the credits of Captain America: The First Avenger were treated to the first ever teaser trailer for Joss Whedon's ultimate superhero sequel The Avengers. and everyone took it as a sign that the first official trailer would be released online shortly after. It didn't happen. Then a teaser for the teaser trailer was released online, giving fans hope that a full preview was on the way. It didn't happen. Next, the Disney convention D23 took place in Anaheim, CA and audience members were treated to an extended look at the new movie and, once again, people held their breath waiting to see a trailer for everybody...and it didn't happen. But those just about ready to Hulk smash the nearest wall can relax: your wait is almost over.

The newly launched Avengers Facebook page has revealed that the first official trailer for The Avengers will be released in five days - on Tuesday, October 11th. As it's just a blurb it doesn't give any details about what we may see, but considering their "counting down" until the release, the next few days might feature some sort of preview. The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Cobie Smulders and Tom Hiddleston. The movie is set to be released on May 4, 2012.
