There’s no doubt that George Clooney’s got a lot of celebrity friends. We’ve seen him co-star with plenty of them in film projects, like his “forever friend” Brad Pitt in Apple TV+’s Wolfs or reuniting with Oceans Eleven co-star Julia Roberts for Ticket to Paradise. But after Harry Potter’s Emma Watson was spot heading into Clooney’s French villa, who would have thought that they know each other?

What We Know About George Clooney and Emma Watson

While we know about George Clooney’s close celebrity friends like Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, and more, there may be another friend in his circle we don’t know about. Instagrammer profile DeuxMoi posted photos of Emma Watson wearing a white floral dress stepping into George Clooney’s Lake Como villa.

There are so many questions on my mind as to what Watson’s connection could be with Clooney. Maybe they’re working on an undisclosed film project together. As the two A-listers are so talented, I would love to see the two show off their acting chops as they share the screen.

Or the Little Women star could be planning something with Clooney’s wife, Amal, who’s an international human rights lawyer and co-founder of the Clooney Foundation for Justice. Watson has been known for her activism efforts herself, centering on gender equality and women’s rights. So, there may be more to this unexpected visit than meets the eye.

What Emma Watson Has Said About Returning to Acting

Emma Watson’s big film project was 2019’s Little Women, and we haven’t seen her in a movie since. As of recently, the English actress starred, directed, wrote, and narrated a short film for Prada Beauty’s promotional campaign. The Harry Potter alum is also in a new relationship with billionaire boyfriend Gonzalo Hevia Baillères, as well as being the co-founder of Renais Gin, and spoke at the United for Wildlife Business Forum in June. So, the former child star clearly has found plenty to do outside of Hollywood.

While The Circle actress previously said she misses the art of acting and using her skills, she said she doesn’t miss the pressure or having to promote her works. Watson also admitted that she “wasn’t very happy” as an actress, feeling she had to be the “spokesperson” for projects she wasn’t creatively involved in.

At the same time, though, Watson wouldn’t say she’s retired from acting, saying she’d “absolutely” be in front of the camera again. But The Perks of Being a Wallflower star would rather just wait around for the next thing and focus on her outside endeavors. Hopefully, that will be a future film with a certain Oceans Eleven actor.

It may be up in the air what the connection is between George Clooney and Emma Watson. But whether it’s a new Hollywood project or a humanitarian initiative, I can’t wait to find out. But hopefully Watson's been warned about the Clooneys' weird house rule of leaving your phone in a basket!
