Lynda Carter Hopped In A Bathtub For Super Troopers 3: ‘You Promised Not To Show That!’
Governor Jessman is back.... and in a tub!
The 2026 movie schedule is filled with legacy sequels, and there’s one particularly irreverent one that’s set to arrive later this month. I’m talking about Super Troopers 3, which sees the members of the Broken Lizard comedy team returning to write and star in the production. Some other franchise alums will also be back in the fray this time as well, including Lynda Carter. The fan-favorite actress seems excited to be back, and she recently expressed that enthusiasm by sharing some pics, including a still in which she’s chilling in a bathtub.
At this point, Super Troopers fans have surely come to expect comedy-based action from this franchise and, of course, other madcap antics can ensure as well. However, I can’t say I would’ve expected a still from the film to show Carter’s Governor Jessman smiling while soaking in a tub. That’s exactly what Carter revealed in a recent Instagram post, though, along with a couple of behind-the-scenes photos taken on set. Check out the seemingly ageless Carter in the post below:

While I’m delighted to see a bit of ST3 content, I’m also just enamored with Carter, who looks downright stunning. The iconic Wonder Woman star has always seemed to have something of a glow to her, and that’s definitely apparent in these fresh pics. Aside from that, though, it’s also just cool to see Carter once again sharing space with some of her longtime co-stars like Brian Cox and Jay Chandrasekhar. The jokey comment she makes pertaining to Chandrasekhar in her caption is also funny:
[Super Troopers] Ride Again!!! Follow them and us (returning cast) For a fantastic road romp!! But….wait for it…the last scene! I’m naked in a bathtub???? Oh noooo, [Jay Chandrasekhar] you promised not to show that!
I’d like to think that Vermont Governor Jessman will do more than sit in a tub when she returns in this upcoming threequel (though I could be wrong, considering how unpredictable this film series can be). Throughout the franchise, Carter’s Jessman has served as a key ally to the titular team and provides them with intel on missions. Jessman’s last appearance was in ST2, in which she unites the troopers to help deal with a land-related situation involving Canada. With all that said, this latest photo does leave room for speculation. I mean, is Jessman done with her political obligations and now living the simple life? We’ll have to wait and see.
What is known about the plot of Super Troopers 3 is that it’ll see the team trying to solve a case involving a drug operation. And, at the same time, Trooper “Thorny” will be wrestling with his sister’s engagement to “Favra” and attempt to break them up. Matrimony-based chaos seems likely to ensue, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
As was the case with the first Troopers sequel, it’s honestly miraculous that a threequel is happening, though I certainly won’t question it. I’m curious to see what the Broken Lizard brings this time around and, of course, I can’t wait to see Lynda Carter return as Jessman as well. Until then, I’ll just be pondering why Carter’s character will be soaking in a tub during one part of the film.
Grab a Super Troopers 3 popcorn bucket and check out the film when it opens in theaters on August 7. In the meantime, stream the OG 2001 movie with a Hulu subscription, and grab an HBO Max subscription to check out the 2018 sequel.
