Watch John Wick 3's Keanu Reeves And Halle Berry's Intense Weapon Training

Daaaaaaaamn. If there's one thing you have to know how to do in a John Wick film, it's fire a gun. Or at least look like you know how to fire a gun. When it comes to John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, the entire world is against John Wick. He's going to have to fire a lot of guns to get through this puppy (puppy pun alert!), hopefully with backup from Halle Berry's new character, Sofia. It's clear both Keanu and Halle did more than just fake it for the big screen. Watch this impressive clip from their weapon training sessions, interspersed with scenes from the first trailer:

Those are some solid target shots there. Keanu Reeves and Halle Berry get to live in a video game, and it's clear they took their John Wick 3 training sessions at Taran Tactical Innovations very seriously.

Taran Tactical had shared a previous video of Keanu Reeves "shredding" in training back in 2016. Neo may have been able to dodge bullets, but John Wick certainly knows how to keep those bullets flying fast and on target.

In John Wick 3, Halle Berry joins the team as Sofia, an assassin and old friend of John Wick. She also has her own two dogs, with their own connections to someone she lost, like John Wick's puppy in the first movie. #RIPDaisy

Halle Berry even did some training with the dogs, on top of this weapons training, and also some fight training. And she clearly had a blast making the movie, as she showed on social media. She also mentioned in one post how the film "reinforces that AGE is nothing but an insignificant number." She is 52 and Keanu Reeves is 54 and they are the leads of this action movie. They both did plenty of stunts for this film, and the trailer shows Reeves riding a horse through the streets of New York City while also fighting and firing a gun.

Director Chad Stahelski said John Wick 3 is a bigger movie than the previous two films, and has more action sequences and a higher death count. Because of that, the test screenings showed some action fans loving the film while others thought it was too much. But he said the previous test screenings also came back with the same notes.

The John Wick films are not for everyone, and that's OK, but hopefully nothing gets watered down for Parabellum since this film naturally lends itself to being more deadly. After all, there's a $14 million global contract out for John Wick. It's always interesting to see how he gets out of tight spots, but this one is particularly tight.

John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (here's why it has that title) brings back most of the characters from Chapter 2, with a few new additions. Watch it in theaters starting May 17, as one of the many films we can't wait to see in 2019.

Gina Carbone

Gina grew up in Massachusetts and California in her own version of The Parent Trap. She went to three different middle schools, four high schools, and three universities -- including half a year in Perth, Western Australia. She currently lives in a small town in Maine, the kind Stephen King regularly sets terrible things in, so this may be the last you hear from her.
