Tyga Claims He Helped Kylie Jenner Reach Her Potential

Tyga "Make It Work" Music Video

Tyga is no longer dating Kylie Jenner, as the billionaire entrepreneur is currently in a relationship with Travis Scott, the father of her infant daughter, Stormi. But that's not stopping the 28-year-old musician from believing that he had a huge impact on Jenner's ongoing escalation to fame and great fortune. In his eyes, the rapper believes she is as famous as she is today thanks to his influence. Here's the exact quote Tyga said this week.

She always had a platform and she was always destined to be what she was going to be regardless, but, when I stepped in, there was a lot of codes being taught. It was like, you could do this, you should start this, you should start doing your hair like this. I had a lot to do with all that, which I don't need credit for. I don't need to go online and tell people I did this and I'm the one helping her coming up with these colors and names on her...lip line. It was a lot of stuff.

Well, it's safe to say that Tyga is confident in how he elevated Kylie Jenner's career status. The comment came up during Tyga's appearance on Nicki Minaj's Apple Music Queen Radio show (via Entertainment Tonight). And it was during this conversation that Tyga opened up about how he feels about his ex-girlfriend and her recent superstardom alongside Travis Scott. While Jenner has received no shortage of celebrity and attention through her family connections, along with her appearances on Keeping Up with the Kardashians over the years, Tyga believes he's partly responsible for bringing Kylie Jenner's hot streak of fame to the masses. And while he claims that he doesn't need credit for it, T is making his feelings known.

Whether or not Tyga's comments have any validity, it has earned the musician no shortage of grilling on social media-- with a lot of people believing that Tyga is just bitter about no longer dating Kylie Jenner while she's at the height of her fame. Many took umbrage with Tyga thinking he's remotely responsible for Kylie Jenner's wide fandom. Nevertheless, he is speaking out. But how the public reacts on social media to the continued drama will likely inform how he proceeds in future interviews.

You can watch the interview clip below.

It's just another day of being in the news for Kylie Jenner. The entrepreneur once considered a "self-made" billionaire has kept herself in the news through her glamorous life and wealth, and she has also gotten on Nicki Minaj's bad side because the female rap artist believes Jenner used her fame and wide net of followers to promote her boyfriend Travis Scott's new album, Astroworld, which subsequently sunk the sales on her own. Like we said, it's never a dull moment in the life of Kylie Jenner. And Tyga apparently believes he's a big reason why she's so very famous these days.
