Jay-Z Offering Cheap Tickets To His Brooklyn Concerts

Jay-Z has always had a great eye for marketing and public relations. As partial owner of the recently dubbed Brooklyn Nets, he’s always making the rounds to hype the team, and to help give some love to the community ahead of the big move, he’s come up with a brilliant marketing strategy to foster good will.

According to Contact Music, Jay-Z is set to hold three concerts at the Barclays Center, the Nets’ new home, on September 28, 29 and 30, and to celebrate, he’s decided to offer almost half the tickets for $30. Always a big draw, the musician could have easily charged three times that, but he’d like to let as many local residents into the door without causing them any financial strain. $30 can’t even get you two movie tickets in some parts of New York; so, to see a gigantic star play live, that’s an incredible bargain.

Tickets in the lower bowl of the arena will run a bit more, but in the grand scheme of things, they’re still very reasonable. They’ll run anywhere between $59.50 and $254.50, which is less than half of what many of the already announced later concerts will be charging.

With Jay-Z out marketing and a team that could potentially include D. Williams, Joe Johnson and Dwight Howard, the future of the Nets and by proxy, the Barclays Center seems very rosy. Here’s to hoping the Brooklyn faithful make the most of their new opportunities.
