This is because they allegedly deceived investors into giving over $1 million to the business as it was falling apart. It’s also been alleged that they did not properly represent the resources that would be needed to turn a profit.

Wondermind SRS 44 LLC and Bespoke Wondermind LLC claimed they invested over $1 million into Wondermind Global because of the press Gomez was doing. In The Cut’s story, the issues between Gomez and her mother are outlined, with it specifically saying that “the company’s grand mission and basic operations were tanked by Gomez’s and Teefey’s personal and family dysfunction, including the denial of Teefey’s instability.” It also states that the company reportedly didn’t pay its employees on time for a few months. The investors also noted that this story highlighted Teefey’s “alleged substance abuse disorder and her gross mismanagement of the company.”
Now, Teefey’s rift with her kids has been talked about a lot over the years; her relationship specifically with Selena has reportedly been a rollercoaster.

So, the work Wondermind set out to do was fitting for her, as it had goals to “build a world of mental-health-related content,” per The Cut.
