Blue Bloods Season 10 just started and one longtime star who has been there from the beginning is STILL waiting for some major screen time with Donnie Wahlberg. Abigail Hawk has played Abigail Baker since Blue Bloods Season 1, but the bulk of her work is with Tom Selleck as Commissioner Frank Reagan. She said she absolutely adores Selleck, but she'd be down for some fun new team-ups.
Since Donnie Wahlberg is one of the show's main stars as Detective Danny Reagan, Abigail Hawk said she's always asked about him, and has to give a rather funny response:
Food! That's funny since Tom Selleck was just talking about how those Blue Bloods Reagan family dinner scenes can actually be "miserable" to film in part because of how long they take. Everyone pretends to eat the food -- except for Donnie Wahlberg, who is notorious for eating everything on set.
Abigail Hawk told PopCulture.com she hopes her character Baker gets to work with Danny Reagan eventually. Baker was part of the wedding gathering at the end of last season, allowing Hawk to work with stars she rarely sees, like Donnie Wahlberg and Bridget Moynahan (Erin Reagan). But there wasn't much interaction there, and Hawk has ideas for some other fun team-ups she'd like to see -- including with Danny's partner:
Hey, why not? Blue Bloods usually has 22 episodes in each season, and I can imagine the writers finding a way for some unexpected team-ups like that to happen in Season 10.
Abigail Hawk also said she'd love to work with Steve Schirripa, who plays Detective Anthony Abetemarco. But Blue Bloods should really give her Abigail Baker more scenes with Donnie Wahlberg's Danny Reagan just so the actress has some stories to tell the folks who ask her about the New Kids on the Block star.
Not that she's unhappy working with Tom Selleck, since she told PopCulture he is "authentic" and supportive and just "an awesome, awesome human being." Exactly what you'd want to hear about him!
Blue Bloods Season 10 continues Fridays at 10 p.m. on CBS, including a Whiskey Cavalier alum recurring as the mayor of New York. Tonight's episode, airing October 11, is called "Behind the Smile," where Frank's esteem for an old friend and late socialite proves to be a mistake when her son threatens to publicly reveal who she really was. See? Even Frank makes mistakes sometimes. Keep up with everything still airing on TV this year with our handy 2019 fall TV premiere schedule.
Gina grew up in Massachusetts and California in her own version of The Parent Trap. She went to three different middle schools, four high schools, and three universities -- including half a year in Perth, Western Australia. She currently lives in a small town in Maine, the kind Stephen King regularly sets terrible things in, so this may be the last you hear from her.
