Bachelor In Paradise 2019's Cutest Couple Just Confirmed They Split Up

Bachelor in Paradise 2019 Season 6 reunion Tayshia and John Paul Jones

Three couples got engaged in Bachelor in Paradise 2019's Season 6 finale and I couldn't care less about any of them. Sorry. There are some updates to their stories after the summer season finished filming, but I want to jump straight to the end of my personal favorite couple:

John Paul Jones and Tayshia Adams.

I know, not everyone loved them. But I thought they were the cutest couple of the season, and maybe the cutest in a few Bachelor Nation years. That prom! They had a beautiful summer together ... and then Tayshia dumped JPJ. However, on the Bachelor in Paradise Season 6 reunion special, ABC showed a pre-taped piece where Tayshia visited JPJ at his swanky home in Maryland and they got back together.

Unfortunately, it sounds like distance came between them, since he is based on the East Coast and she lives in California. Tayshia confirmed their split in an October 30 post to fans:

I know you guys have been asking about John and I recently, and as much as I like to keep my personal life private, I realize you have all watched and been a part of our journey from the beginning. Therefore to stay true to that, I need to be open and honest with you in order to heal and move on. John and I had something incredibly special. We fell for each other in Paradise, and everything was a whirlwind after that. When the show ended, I truly went back to Maryland to see if what we had was something we could build on without cameras, a production crew, and without feeling any pressure: to simply figure things out on our own terms. But the reality was, we were living on opposite coasts, and working insane schedules that made it impossible to see each other and build a life with each other.

Tayshia ended her post by saying she and John Paul Jones did the best they could, and they're still the best of friends, but they are no longer dating. JPJ commented with a heart emoji, so that's his endorsement of her statement. Check out her full breakup post, which came with a photo of the two Bachelor/ette stars, who are now in The Friend Zone:

OK, maybe it's not a huge shock that these two didn't get married in the end -- or not yet, anyway. I intend to stay delusional and believe they'll get together someday, if they ever end up living on the same coast. I'm kind of surprised John Paul Jones hasn't moved to the L.A. area yet like everyone else in Bachelor Nation.

Speaking of the rest of Bachelor Nation, there's also some bad news about another Bachelor in Paradise couple. These two ended the season engaged.

On October 30, a source told ET that Demi Burnett and Kristian Haggerty were "extremely rocky" in their relationship. The next day, Kristian confirmed they had broken up:

Demi is a regular at Dancing With the Stars live shows to support her fellow Bachelor lady Hannah Brown, but Demi and Kristian have not been there as a couple.

I wouldn't have been shocked to hear that Chris Bukowski and Katie Morton were extremely rocky -- since their Bachelor in Paradise reunion talk was awkward and sad. But here they are in a post from just a few days ago, both looking happy and sharing positive comments:

Maybe they'll announce a split later, you can easily be fooled by social media, but I'm starting to think those crazy kids might actually make it!

No one was surprised about Hannah Godwin and Dylan Barbour getting engaged in the Bachelor in Paradise 2019 finale, and no one should be surprised to see they are still together:

I could see them getting married next year on Bachelor in Paradise 2020. If these two break up, I don't think Bachelor Nation would be able to take it. I'd be fine, though, since Tayshia and JPJ are more my jam. I like the quirky ones.

Speaking of Hannah Godwin, though, she's close friends with another Hannah -- Hannah Sluss -- who is currently competing for Bachelor Peter Weber's love on his season of The Bachelor. That 2020 season is winding down its filming, and you can see if Hannah S. made it to Peter's hometown dates. Pilot Pete should be filming his finale soon in November.

The Bachelor Season 24 premieres January 6, 2020. One of his rejected ladies will almost certainly become the 2020 Bachelorette. And a bunch of alumni from both The Bachelor and Bachelorette will head to Bachelor in Paradise 2020 to try to find love there next summer. Rinse, repeat. Hey, maybe JPJ and Tayshia will both be cast next summer and fall in love all over again? I could be down for that.

Gina Carbone

Gina grew up in Massachusetts and California in her own version of The Parent Trap. She went to three different middle schools, four high schools, and three universities -- including half a year in Perth, Western Australia. She currently lives in a small town in Maine, the kind Stephen King regularly sets terrible things in, so this may be the last you hear from her.
