The Boys Shares Ridiculous Season 1 Deleted Scene Full Of The Deep's Grossness

the boys season 1 the deep

If you’ve seen Amazon’s The Boys, then you know all about The Deep’s disgusting behavior. As a member of The Seven, the series’ elite team of diabolical heroes whose behavior isn't always so super, The Deep could get away with almost anything with his reputation intact, at least until said behavior went public. A ridiculous deleted scene recently released from The Boys Season 1 is just a prime example of The Deep’s grossness.

In the deleted scene, Chace Crawford’s The Deep is seen giving CPR training to a group of lifeguards. Naturally, he takes the opportunity to be inappropriate and "teaches" the techniques of CPR with a running commentary that includes sex jokes and references to genitalia. At one point, The Deep shows a female lifeguard how CPR is really done, all while flexing his muscles and compressing the CPR dummy's chest with one arm. (Don’t try this at home, kids!). Watch the deleted scene below!

After watching the deleted scene, which was posted to The Boys’ official Facebook page, I’m not sure I’ll ever get over The Deep telling the lifeguards that the drowning victims can “still feel the eye contact in their soul” even though they’re unconscious. It is to shudder.

What’s hilarious (or maybe troubling) about the whole thing is that no one ever calls him out about anything he says, no matter how inappropriate or unprofessional. And I’m no expert, but it’s pretty clear that that’s not how CPR is administered, and no one should talk about a torso that way, living or dead.

It’s unclear when this scene would have taken place in Season 1, but it’s likely before The Deep is temporarily sent away from The Seven, although it does seem like it's punishment. The scene is every bit as ridiculous and creepy as the character, though it’s understandable why it was cut from The Boys, which just so happened to make our list of best superhero TV shows of the decade. There were plenty of other opportunities to showcase The Deep’s gross behavior throughout and this scene didn’t necessarily add anything to the plot of Season 1.

While The Deep is a deeply (pun intended) perverted character, The Boys seemed to take every opportunity to mock him and make him reflect on his actions throughout Season 1. The Deep was even the butt of the joke outside of the show as well. For Amazon’s The Boys-themed calendar, he appeared posing alongside photo-shopped dolphins with an over-the-top penis bulge. Fans took notice but, hey, at least Chace Crawford got a good laugh out of the whole thing.

With a ton of fans, though maybe not as many viewers as expected, The Boys Season 1 is currently available to stream on Amazon. The series was renewed last year and released the first teaser trailer for Season 2 in December. Yes, it looks just as bloody and perhaps even wilder than its first season.

There is currently no release date scheduled for Season 2, but stay tuned to CinemaBlend for more information. In the meantime, be sure to check out our 2020 midseason schedule for updated premiere dates and times.
