The Mandalorian’s Season 2 finale delivered plenty of massive moments, from the climactic duel between Din Djarin and Moff Gideon to the Djarin’s heartfelt farewell to Grogu (a.k.a. Baby Yoda). Of course, the moment that likely made Star Wars fans jump out of their seats was the surprise appearance of Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker, who arrived to take Grogu to begin his Jedi training. It was a great moment for everyone involved in the show, including Bo-Katan actress Katee Sackhoff and, just recently, she and Hamill shared a sweet exchange regarding the major scene.

Just recently, a fan asked Katee Sackhoff to confirm whether or not she’s a lifelong Star Wars fan and if she got to work with Mark Hamill. While the actress was able to confirm the former point, she further verified that she and Hamill didn’t actually work together directly on the big moment, despite their two characters being present. The actress did express hope that they would work with each other one day and, when Hamill spotted her message, he lovingly expressed similar sentiments in his own Twitter post:

You can’t help but love it when stars show each other love on social media, especially in the Star Wars realm. Both Mark Hamill and Katee Sackhoff have active presences on social media. As a matter of fact, this isn’t the first time Hamill has had a sweet interaction with a fellow Star Wars alum. He and The Mandalorian’s Ming-Na Wen also shared a special moment not too long ago.

The Mandalorian has proven to be a very special experience for both Katee Sackhoff and Mark Hamill. Sackhoff has relished the opportunity to bring Star Wars: The Clone Wars alum Bo-Katan Kryze to the live-action realm. However, the actress did find that there was a bit of a learning curve when she experienced a bit of humorous trouble with some stormtroopers on set.

Meanwhile, Mark Hamill was incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to play Luke Skywalker again, after seemingly retiring the character for good. After the episode aired, he took the time to thank the episode’s director, Peyton Reed, and shared some beautiful messages about his pivotal scene. It’s hard to understate the power of Star Wars and its impact on people, even those who have been firm parts of the franchise for some time now.

With any luck, Katee Sackhoff and Mark Hamill will get to meet someday, whether it be in a Star Wars project, another TV show or just a casual meeting that’s not on a set. Both have become icons within the pop culture sphere so, as Mark Hamill points out, it truly is their destiny to cross paths.

The first two seasons of The Mandalorian are available to stream on Disney+, which you can sign up for using this link.
