90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After Season 6 showed Kalani Faagata and Asuelu Pulaa in a better place than when we last saw the couple on television, though the season is still young. Still, it appeared Asuelu was willing to be more agreeable with his wife on things he wouldn't have in the past, which resulted in a strange and new Asuelu that audiences may not be used to.

The couple went out for crepes, and in the midst of what appeared to be Asuelu's first crepe ever, Kalani dropped a bombshell. Her sister, Kolini, was coming to live with her family, which meant she'd be in close proximity with Asuelu. The two have had their fair share of disputes, so Kalani expected a negative response, but Asuelu said he was fine and ready to move forward. He then broke into tears and told Kalani he hoped she could see he's trying to change and doing the right thing, but Kalani mentioned later in a confessional she wasn't so sure.

In the past Asuelu has used crying as, like, a form of manipulation. So now I just don't, obviously that's what I want. I want Asuelu to be like supportive and accomadating and loving with my sister. But I don't know if his tears are genuine. I don't know if his feelings are genuine. I just don't know how to feel anymore because he's tricked me for so long that maybe he's changing and maybe this is us starting a new life together? I just have to be cautious.

It's hard not to agree with Kalani as a viewer, as this is truly a different Asuelu from 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After Season 5. Viewers saw Asuelu call his wife a "lying bitch" in front of her mother and got in a spat with her sister Kolini in the tell-all. Things were so bad that no one in the family seemed to think the two would last, so the fact they're still together in Season 6 may be a testament that they've done a lot of work.

With that said, the fact that Kalani is suspicious of her husband's behavior makes me curious. Obviously, it wasn't the reaction she expected, and she didn't hate it. Is it possible, though, that Asuelu is aware of how he came across on television and attempted to put on a show for the camera to win back the support of viewers? We do know Asuelu had a chance to watch the season himself, and he admitted in interviews he was ashamed by what he saw.

I'm sure we'll see in Season 6 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After whether Asuelu's genuine or not in his changes . All indications on social media to this point lead to the conclusion Kalani Faagata and Asuelu Pulaa are still married, but they could just be better at keeping a secret than other cast members.

90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After airs on TLC Sundays at 8:00 p.m. ET, but fans can catch new episodes on Friday mornings with a Discovery+ subscription. Those still out of the loop on the season and its couples can bring themselves up to speed via our handy guide.
