Season 3 of The Boys is getting closer by the day, and it seems like every time new information is released about the upcoming episodes, the information tends to be about how insane it will be. Would anyone expect less at this point? One storyline that is getting a lot of hype is the sexed-up “Herogasm” comic arc, but showrunner Eric Kripke is teasing that there’s an even 'crazier' storyline, which I didn’t think would be possible in the same season.

For those unfamiliar with the storyline crafted by comic creators Garth Ennis (naturally), John McCrea, and Darick Robertson, “Herogasm” is the regularly occurrent event in which supes around the world pretend they’re going to heroically fight aliens in space, when they are really just having a massive and unrestricted sex party on a remote island. The Boys, even with just two seasons currently under its belt, is known for being one of the raunchiest and totally out-there shows on TV, so it was previously safe to assume that “Herogasm” would be the most bonkers episode of Season 3 that you wouldn't want to watch with your grandmother. However, creator Eric Kripke revealed to Entertainment Weekly that, at least in his mind, there is one thing that tops the orgy to end all orgies. In his words:

We have some crazier thing. Beyond even 'Herogasm,' I still think the craziest thing we've ever done is in Episode 1.

The first time Eric Kripke teased Season 3’s first episode was last year when he shared the episode’s title, “Payback.” But little did we know that installment might prove to be the most notorious. If that’s any indication for how the season will start, the third season is going to be a crazy ride whenever it eventually gets here. While the first episode does apparently tip the WTF scales, Kripke made sure to keep the hype on “Herogasm,” because it’s definitely not going to be anything anyone has seen before:

That said, 'Herogasm,' the dailies are bananas. I've been around the block a few times. I'm a seasoned producer. Every single day on those dailies, my jaw was on the floor. I just could not believe how insane those dailies were. It's just crazy. I can tell you that for anybody who is a fan of the comic and is expecting to see Herogasm, we are delivering it. That is happening.

“Herogasm” is set to be the sixth episode of The Boys Season 3, so even though fans will have a while until the episode drops on Amazon even after the season premieres, it doesn’t look like there will be a lack of lunacy in the meantime. Following Season 2’s mind-blowing finale - probably the least disgusting pun that could happen in this story - Eric Kripke and his creative team are just upping the ante from there. Add Jensen Ackles’ highly-anticipated superhero debut as Soldier Boy to the mix, and Season 3 will no doubt have a little something for everyone. Well, everyone who likes sex jokes, Jack Quaid getting sprayed with blood, and massive prosthetic dongs.

How Season 3 of The Boys will look like is unpredictable for now, even though we already know some of the lurid details. Literally anything can happen in this show, but that and Antony Starr's evil glares are what make it something to look forward to. Meanwhile, fans can also look forward to a spinoff of The Boys coming in the near future, as well as more behind the scenes photos from the cast. There is no set premiere date for The Boys Season 3 but stay tuned to CinemaBlend for any updates, and don't forget about the Vought News Network videos dropping on the 7th of each month!
