Dancing With The Stars' Jodie Sweetin Injured On The Set, Here's The Latest

Somebody change the sign by the door, because it has now been exactly zero days since the last accident on Dancing with the Stars. This time around, it was Fuller House star Jodie Sweetin that was the injured party, though it wasn’t anything extremely debilitating, for those fearing the worst. That said, it’s unclear at this point if her Dancing with the Stars future is going to be altered by this setback.

A popular member of the Season 22 cast, Jodie Sweetin was engaging in rehearsals for next Monday’s episode when she hurt her left foot, after which she was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Nothing has been reported that makes it sound like a major injury, and her diagnosis (unavailable at the time of this writing) will dictate how her upcoming days will go. According to People, she was in good spirits at the hospital, so obviously we’re all hoping for a best case scenario to come from this. Well, I guess the best case would be if there were no injured left feet on the entire planet, but the odds aren’t high for that.

Getting hurt bad enough to immediately hit up the hospital isn’t an incident that often precedes the kind of strenuous physical activity that dance choreography calls for. (Well, depending on who’s learning the dances, I guess.) So even if Jodie Sweetin’s foot isn’t busted up enough to totally disrupt any attempts at walking in the next few weeks, that doesn’t mean it will be in good enough shape for any kind of competition. We’ll just have to wait and see how it all shakes out.

Relive her dance from Monday’s episode below.

If Sweetin is indeed absent from next week’s episode, it means she’ll be missing the Famous Dances Night, which is generally one of the most enjoyable installments of each Dancing with the Stars season. And it’s also one that the actress had been excited about taking part in, as stated on her blog. You might recall last year’s Famous Dances Night, which included winners Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough showing off their Dirty Dancing skills

This is the second injury to occur in Season 22, with the first happening to dancer Mark Ballas, whose back injury during the second week’s dress rehearsals kept him off the show that week. Last year saw Peta Murgatroyd tearing some ankle ligaments, Kim Zolciak-Biermann having a mini-strike, and Tamar Braxton needing to drop out due to blood clots in her lungs. Irwin also hurt her foot but went on to win the whole thing, so maybe Sweetin’s injury is a good omen. If nothing else, someone can write it into a Fuller House script to pad a conversation with Stephanie’s new love interest.

Dancing with the Stars airs Monday nights on ABC.
