Kaitlin Olson And Her High Potential Barbie Are Finally Back Filming For Season 3, I'm Dying Over The Fan Reactions

With the long-awaited 18th season of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia hitting the 2026 TV schedule soon (with a most disgusting premiere episode for ol’ Frank), the always magnificent Kaitlin Olson is due to be back on the small screen posthaste. But for High Potential fans looking to imbibe on Morgan Gillory’s signature combination of smarts and snarks, Sweet Dee may not bring the ideal vibe. Thankfully, Olson herself dropped a well-timed update on viewers.

Taking to Instagram, Olson revealed to her followers and the High Potential fandom at large that we are back in business for Season 3, with production kicking off today for the next batch of episodes. And it's not only Olson's Morgan on display, but also the fantastically dressed Barbie doll that the actress first showed off when Season 2 wrapped. Check it out!

I don't know about you, but I feel like dancing now. Even without any music...or rhythm...or dance skills. Okay I guess I really just feel like celebrating in a physical manner that may only resemble dancing for short bursts.

And I'm absolutely not alone in the celebratory boat, as there are tons of fans who have chimed in jubilantly, and some of the reactions are hilariously intense and over the top. The amount of exclamation points and uses of "We are so back" is intimidating, as are the amount of times fans referred to Morgan and/or Kaitlin as some form of "mother." And of course there were some It's Always Sunny references to be made (as well as comments form some of the FX comedy's stars, but we'll get to that shortly).

Here's a medium-sized dose of the extreme excitement, pomp and circumstance populating that post's comment section:

  • MOTHER MORGAN IS BACK !!!!!!!!! - @irsyadxv
  • I love the Morgan Barbie doll making a cameo in this picture. Haha. - @hercreativevibes
  • the amazing fits are back omg - @milenacurino
  • OMGGGGGG I AM SO NORMAL ABOUT THIS / okay my lord i lied I AM SO NOT NORMAL ABOUT THIS, IM SUPERRRRR EXCITED - @gillorylapd
  • screaming shaking throwing up - @beckettsgillory
  • 🔥yay mama is back❤️❤️❤️❤️ - @coreydetres
  • so excited!! happy day 1!!! and absolutely LOVE the mini morgan 🤩❤️ - @highpotentialgals
  • what kind of bird is this? - @bigbri64
  • My Queen is ready!😍🔥 - @wavess_ii
  • I will slide u one whole dollar if you can give us a pic of you and daniel next - @morgankaradecs
  • MOTHERR!! THE OUTFIT NEVER DISAPPOINTS - @r_prob14
  • Steve Howey, you better be back cause if you die, we’re all gonna be super pissed. - @_.valerieee.__

I do like the idea of that last comment being directed straight at Steve Howey, and not High Potential's new showrunners, as if he'd have the absolute last say on what happens with his character Nick Wagner. (I mean, he might have some sway, don't get me wrong.) I also appreciate trying to bribe her into providing some Morgan and Karadec visuals, although I'd have probably offered a buck fifty.

And now for a few above-the-line comments, including one from Kaitlin Olson's hubby and co-star Rob Mac, who sparked his own subset of freaked-out reactions from fans who maybe aren't all about seeing one of their favorite celeb couples get flirtatious.

  • ROB MAC: Hello you hiding little hellcat🔥
  • HIGH POTENTIAL ABC: So exciting! 🎉
  • HULU: the best 👏
  • MARY ELIZABETH ELLIS: She’s works hard for the money!! So hard for it honey. And so grateful she does. Happy season 3!!

One of the comments under Rob Mac's pointed out that she's a bird, not a hellcat, and I just love these people.

Last but not least, here's an amusing counterpoint to the abundance of hype elsewhere in the comments: the commenter who appears to be excited about the post, but clearly missed the point.

  • Will there be a third season? - @_dayanasagitova_
    • yes next year. That's why they started filming the new season this month. - @joeypadron

Gotta love the Internet!

What I don't gotta love, however, is the fact that High Potential Season 3 isn't kicking off until ABC's midseason schedule starts up in 2027. But at least we know everyone is already back at work for it, so there won't be any further delays down the line. In the meantime, don't forget about It's Always Sunny Season 18 debuting on August 16!
