City Heroes' latest expansion plays on the tried and true methods of Hollywood blockbusters, featuring two new scenarios involving coliseum arena games, as well as a brand new casino heist expansion with an all-star cast of villains.

I'm amazed that people still play this game given all the other free-to-play titles out there, including Perfect World's take on Champions Online and SOE's powerhouse DC Universe Online, both of which have seen a huge resurgence in their player base after switching from base premium subscription models to the free-to-play microtransaction model.

Anyway, the 'Time Gladiator' segment is basically a typical arena-style showdown between mythical legendary gladiators and super-powered heroes and the 'Casino Heist' focuses on the splashy, retro heist movie motif with players being tossed into a situation involving criminal masterminds inside a flash casino. Check out both in the new trailer below.

If you're still chugging along in the now free-to-player super hero title, you can check out both expansion packs right now.

The game enables players to basically build their idea hero using mix-and-match pieces, parts, powers and abilities to create your dream super hero. The game has been around since 2004 and recently went free-to-play the accommodate the growing trend of microtransactions that have really taken off here in North America.
